Welcome to Maison de la rivière, a 3-bedroom boutique holiday farmhouse, set in the idyllic surroundings of the Bearn des Gaves region, by the river Saison. Bearn des Gaves is a region of verdant rolling hills crossed by a large network of mountain rivers, perfect for fishing, water sports and swimming. One of these rivers, the Saison, is only a 5 minutes’ walk through our property to a secret stone-beach where you can swim or fish to your heart’s delight, in privacy.

We have some of the region’s finest walks and cycling routes on our doorstep, as well as a great village restaurant, Auberge Blondain, which is famed for its cheap, plentiful and delicious food. A larger selection of restaurants is also available in Sauveterre de Bearn, only a 5 minutes’ drive away, and the Atlantic Coast’s sandy beaches and beautiful seaside towns of Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz or Hendaye make lovely day trips. We’re also only an hour and half drive away from the Pyrénées National Park: perfect for a day of trekking or skiing (depending what time of the year you’re staying with us).

We are very well connected and surrounded by charming villages (some of them classed as Les Plux Beaux Villages de France) such as Sauveterre de Bearn, Navarrenx, Salies de Bearn or Saint Jean Pied de Port. Our closest airports are Biarritz, Lourdes and Pau (within approx. 1 hour drive). La Pierre Saint Martin is our nearest ski resort, situated 1.5 hours away.
